The Satin Dolls

The Satin Dolls are a Warwickshire based four-piece Rock/pop band. The group have been lucky enough to perform & record with some well known producers & performers in the UK music scene. The first song professionally recorded was ‘Walk Away’ written by J Burrows & R Wells. This song was produced by Mike Crossey (producer of the Zutons, Artic Monkeys, OMD etc). It was thanks to Andy McClusky from OMD that the band was given the chance to record at the Motor Museum studios, with Mike Crossey in Liverpool. It was after playing a hard hitting gig at Satan’s Hollow in Manchester, supporting the then up & coming Subways, Andy offered the band time in his studio (the Motor Museum). After a few visits to the studio, The Satin Dolls went away with three professionally produced tracks (Walk Away, Tell Me & Tonight). Currently, the band is working hard recording. The Satin Dolls have just finished filming a music DVD in association with the fantastic ‘rarecompany’ www.myspace.com/rarecompany for their sort after track ‘Walk Away’, which is now online. The Satin Dolls are a band that are well received in all venues, thanks to its roots in British Rock n Roll & the powerful soaring distinctive vocals of Julie Burrows. Julie’s stage presence is infectious; she has been compared to some great artists such as, Robert Plant, Gwen Stefani, Debbie Harry and PJ Harvey. After completing a mini tour in 2006 culminating with a rocking gig at ‘The Cavern club’ in Liverpool, the band were asked to kick off the show, for the Coventry Christmas lights switch on. This was an excellent & rewarding opportunity for the dolls, being the only unsigned & local band to be asked to play. With 10’000 people screaming back at them, they could not have asked for a better opportunity in their home city (thank you to all involved). With their stomping live shows, promotion & round the clock dedication, the band have a growing midlands following; and a swelling international fan base.
